Operative dentistry (O.D.) covers the removal of cavities and the insertion of a filling. In the old days, those were commonly "grey fillings" or "amalgams"; we don't do that. In fact, we never have: we stick to composite: here is why.
When decay affects a tooth, but the tooth remains generally healthy, fillings are a way to replace the decay-affected portion while maintaining the strength of your natural tooth.
The treatment consists of removing the decayed portion of the tooth and then bonding a material shaped to match the shape of the tooth and adjacent teeth.
This type of restoration restores the full functionality and appearance of the diseased tooth. Our dentists only use composite materials that are the same color as the tooth. They have the advantage of not containing mercury, unlike amalgam fillings (metal-colored fillings).
These materials allow for more targeted interventions, with less material removal than with amalgam restorations, thus preserving the natural strength of your teeth. The result is also much more aesthetic and natural.
A missing or broken tooth causes many problems. A crown (on an implant or on your natural tooth), a bridge (which replaces one or more teeth by leaning on adjacent teeth) or an inlay (to replace the missing tooth part) are the main treatments that can be considered in these situations.

The placement of implants is an appropriate solution in many cases. It begins with a precise analysis of the area to be treated. Digital X-rays and scans help determine the position of the implants in relation to the adjacent and opposing teeth, bone, gums, etc. An artificial root is then placed into the bone. Once this step is completed, a period of several months follows during which the implant and the jawbone are allowed to solidify their bond.
The abutment, which will be used to attach the crown at the end of the treatment, can be installed at the time of the implant placement or after these few months, depending on the case. Then, after the implant is well in place, a crown is manufactured and installed on the abutment in one appointment to give you back a natural smile and a fully functional mouth.

Endodontics includes all treatments of the pulp of your teeth such as root canal treatment, for example. This type of intervention, when performed in time, can prolong the "life" of a tooth, otherwise in good condition, but with a sick pulp.
Root canal treatment consists of removing the pulp and filling the canals in order to block the access to bacteria. To perform these procedures in the most complex cases, we have an endodontic microscope to visualize the canals with extreme precision. A devitalized (pulped) but structurally sound tooth can continue to function for many years. Timely root canal treatment prevents the complete loss of the affected tooth.

A bone graft may be necessary to strengthen your jawbone for implant placement, for example, so that the bone structure provides a sufficiently strong foundation for your teeth. Gum grafting restores natural protection to one or more teeth that are loose and reveal part of their root.
Pocket reduction is used to treat periodontal disease and eliminate subgingival areas where tartar and bacteria accumulate. Finally, crown elongation is an operation that removes some gum tissue. Wearing an occlusal plate at night helps to distribute the forces exerted by the jaws when we clench our teeth while sleeping. By acting as a shock absorber and guiding our jaw movements, the bite plate reduces premature wear of our teeth when we grind or clench them too hard during the night.
It also relieves muscular tension in the jaw and neck joints. It also helps control mild to moderate sleep apnea by repositioning the lower jaw to clear the airway.

Our teeth need space to grow and develop properly. Sometimes our palate is too narrow to allow this. This can result in overlapping teeth, malocclusions (poor positioning of the upper and lower teeth), breathing difficulties, deviation of the mandible, pronunciation difficulties...
The palate of a child, before the age of 14-15, is flexible enough to easily correct this problem. There is a bony suture dividing the upper jaw which is not yet completely closed before this age and which can therefore be opened gradually and painlessly with the help of an appliance which is glued to the palate and rests on the teeth. This treatment takes place over a period of several months in order to stabilize the expansion obtained.
Palatal expansion, when recommended, should therefore be performed as early as possible in a child's life, once the problem has been diagnosed, so that the permanent teeth can grow in under the best conditions and to avoid more extensive orthodontic work later on.

The main advantages of this orthodontic technique over the traditional approach with braces are better comfort, greater discretion, the possibility of easily removing and replacing the aligner and also that you will be able to maintain an optimal dental hygiene during the entire treatment.
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) helps the healing process following dental surgery (tooth extraction, implant placement, etc.). Obtained from a blood sample taken before the beginning of the dental surgery, fibrin will be deposited on the site of the operation to promote healing, while reducing pain and swelling. In the case of an implant, fibrin will also promote osseointegration and thus strengthen the implant.
The PRF is obtained by taking a blood sample of a few milliliters, similar to the blood sample taken for a conventional medical examination. The test tube containing the sample is then processed in a centrifugeuse for several minutes to separate the cell-free plasma. The Diagnodent is a non-invasive and painless laser detection technology: it scans your teeth and emits a sound when it finds a cavity, including those that are not visible to the naked eye or cannot be found with an oral explorer.
It detects cavities shortly after they have formed that conventional research methods such as the curette or visual inspection (with or without intra-oral photography) do not show. It can also find cavities hidden inside a tooth.
The diagnodent therefore allows us to identify cavities earlier, before they have eaten away more of the tooth. This allows us to intervene earlier in the process and preserve more of the affected tooth with more limited restorations.
Micro air abrasion uses a powerful and very precise jet of air and particles to remove a cavity.
Once a cavity is identified, this technique allows us to limit the area of intervention. Micro air abrasion is a natural complement to laser cavity detection.
The end result is a painless procedure (no anesthesia required in some cases), less material removed to eliminate the cavity, and therefore a stronger tooth, longer.
This laser allows for quick and precise gum surgery. These procedures are usually bleeding-free and cause less post-operative pain. We use the diode laser for a wide range of procedures: fibroid removal, frenectomies, gum removal, debridement and removal of highly inflamed tissue.
